And since this is Instagram we’ll do our best to make a long story short. Born in northern Switzerland, Peter Monteverdi built his first car at just 16 years of age in the back of his father’s garage. Just two years later, he began selling racing cars under his own brand – MBM. He raced extensively in junior series, before entering F1 and suffering a near fatal crash after one start. In 1957, he began importing high end luxury cars to Switzerland and became Ferrari’s official Swiss distributor. Ten years later, it seems he had enough of Enzo and decided to hire Pietro Frua to design a full-fledged road-going car suitable for his most discerning clients. The car was outfitted with a steel chassis built in Germany, sexy Italian coachwork and a massive Chrysler 440 ci V8. This Monteverdi 375/4 sedan is a striking early-production example of this rare and highly exclusive super-saloon. A highly original car, it benefits from a recent cosmetic freshening in beautiful dark metallic aubergine paint over an attractive biscuit tan leather interior. Since Monteverdi was famously secretive about his production records, it is not known exactly how many were built, but it is believed to be fewer than 30. So Chasers, is the Monteverdi better suited parked next to a private jet or in the parking garage? 😎 _____________________________________________ 🚘 1970 Monteverdi 375/4 Sedan 💯 One of fewer than 30 built 📰 @Hymanltd.ClassicCars 📸 @Hymanltd.ClassicCars 💵 Offered at $265,000 _______________________________________________ #classic #classiccar #collect #icon #classiccarchasers #carphotography #forsale #drivetastefully #monteverdi #sedan #limo #luxury".
