She kept us all company through countless illnesses and milestones, was a legitimate athlete who ran constant 5Ks with Mom, and during tough times she was my confidante - and a loyal friend. She’d sneak into my room whenever there was too much noise downstairs, preferring the solitude of being on - or hiding under - my bed. Whenever she wanted my attention or just felt sooky, she’d wait for me to sit on the floor with my legs splayed then she’d burrow her snout into the curve under my left knee - the exact same spot, every time. If any of us left her alone in the house for too long, she’d traipse into the laundry, grab one of our socks or shoes in her mouth, then drag it all the way up to Mom and Dad’s master bedroom. Maybe she just loved the scent, maybe she was trying to mess up our laundry as a retaliation. I’ll never know. But it was so cute. Thanks for always being there for us, no matter what. I’ll never forget you, Mezz. Vale, and rest well".
