Thankfully there are only a few days left for MMM and then I can get back to my regular schedule of only posting a couple times a week 😂. Last year a company called @threadymadenyc sent me a kit to try out in exchange for sharing on my IG, which I happily did, but I only shared an unboxing video because the seasons were changing and I knew I wouldn’t get any immediate wear out of the garment. Now that’s it’s warm again I finally used my kit and I love it! Threadymade makes pattern-free sewing kits using rescued designer fabrics and garment industry professionals who shir and pleat textiles, resulting in skirts and sundresses that are easy for sewists of all skill sets (for real- if you’ve never sewn in your life you have a high chance of creating a gorgeous garment that you’ll love wearing and if you’re already a skilled sewist, you will enjoy whipping up ...

You choose your fabric and the type of garment you wanna make and the kit has every single thing you need to make it except for the scissors and the sewing machine. I liked mine so much that I bought my SIL a kit for Mother’s Day because she just got a sewing machine for Christmas and hasn’t made anything yet- this is just a really great introduction to garment sewing! The fabric panels for the dress can accommodate a 60” bust and the skirts can accommodate up to a 46” waist. I decided to get fancy and turn my dress into a romper using the Ninni Culottes pattern that was already in my stash and some spiritual hacking, and it was pretty successful! But I heard they might be including rompers with their future kits which is awesome. I fell in love with this autumnal-colored print and the way the pattern plays out across the garment was a complete accident but I adore how it ended up- it looks like it’s telling a story! Shoes are memade! Thanks again threadymade for gifting me this kit-excited to promote them because they are finding great ways to upcycle rescued goods and employ some of the talented textile manipulators in NYCs garment district♥️".
